The town of Sterzing/Vipiteno attracts skiers and snow-lovers in winter, while in summer you will find a popular hiking area away from the masses, not far from the Schneeberg Hotel. The ski areas of Ratschings and Rosskopf/Montecavallo offer a world of fun and excitement for you to discover, all year long, for every wish and age. The new panoramic 8seat-cable car offers from 8:30 till 17:00 an unforgettable experience and a breath-taking view. This year, as well, the alpine hiking area of Ratschings/Jaufen sets up the children-dedicated path “MountainAdventureWorld”: the ants’ world, the groundhogs’ world, water games, the giant penguin, rocks for climbing, beautiful panoramas and of course the mountain huts for refreshment. What you should not miss is the “6 mountain pastures path”, also called “Dolomieu path”, which leads from the mountain station of Rosskopf/Montecavallo to the valley of Plersch. Early birds can also try the romantic view of the sunrise: after a 45 min walk you reach a panoramic plateau from where you can enjoy an amazing view over the Tyrolan Alps. The Rosskopf/Montecavallo facility offers special rides early in the morning (around 5 o’clock) on Wednesdays from August till mid September.
