Since the noise of mazes and machineries has been gone from the valley, the memory of the mining local tradition is fading little by little. Working in the bowels of the mountain used to be – and it still is – very dangerous, hard and adventurous; it requires strength, stamina, skill and – last but not least – a fearless spirit. Men, women and children have faced these challenges for generations: to these people the Mining museum of Ridnaun dedicates the Miners’ Games.
6-men teams will be facing each other in a sport competition based on the miners’ daily routine. The best team will win a trophy.
Several teams from South Tyrol and Trentino will participate to the Miners’ Games 2019 in their traditional costumes.
- Free entry for the spectators.
- In the afternoon no guided tours are scheduled.
- The restaurant "Knappenstube" of Maiern will be providing food and beverage.
- In case of bad weather this event will be cancelled.

12.00 - 13.00: Concert of traditional music played by the local band
13.30: Start of the Games with all participant teams
14.00 - 17.00: Competitions in the area of the Ridnaun Mining Museum
