Hiking holiday

Fresh air, magnificent panoramas and over 13.000 km of mountain paths with good signage. South Tyrol is an authentic paradise for the hiker: challenging via ferrata to reach the highest peaks, flat paths for the whole family, itineraries of food and wine to get to know some South Tyrolean specialty, demanding hiking excursions split through more days. Come and discover this wonderful region, immersed in pure nature and surrounded by the mighty Dolomites, UNESCO world heritage. During summer, hikers particularly love hiking high up in the mountains: Ridnaun Valley and Jaufen Valley are therefor the perfect escape from the crowded beaches and the sultry cities. Whether it is a nice stroll or a demanding hiking holiday, the important thing is to get in touch with nature, and perhaps enjoying the so-called Shinrin-Yoku, a bath in the woods. The combined action of various terpenes has effect on the blood pressure and helps to fight stress, anxiety and depression. Those who seek more adventure may try the “7 lakes hiking” in Ridnaun Valley, starting from the Mining Museum at 1417 m above the sea level. Take the mining path nr. 28 to reach the Lazzacher mountain hut. At the crossroads take the path nr. 33 that leads to the first lake (big Moarer, 2468 m). Go up high to the Egetjoch passage (2693 m, 1h from the lake); on the opposite side turn left to take the path nr. 33a that leads to the second group of lakes (big Senner, 2647 m). The path 33 then descends to the lower lakes (2510m) and finally to the large lake Trüber (2344m). The path leads then to the Grohmann mountain hut (2254m). Take the steeple path nr 9 to go back to green pasture lawns and the starting point.
