The return of the livestock to their stables is celebrated with a joyful ceremony in the Ridnaun Valley. The transhumance marks the end of summer and means a great joy and thankfulness to the farmers and shepherds, because the animals have returned home safely. The cows will descend with their shepherds to the valley with beautiful flowers and bells and the celebration begins with its traditions, such as the “Goasslschnöllern”, the famous whip crackers. The merrymaking will of course include traditional music, food specialties, a small market of artisan products and a great mood for everyone.
